Nico Opper is a trans filmmaker who directed “Off and Running” (Tribeca Film Festival Audience Favorite, POV), winner of the Best Documentary Award at Outfest, the WGA Award for Best Documentary Screenplay, and a national Emmy nomination. Their episodic series “The F Word” (PBS Digital Studios, Participant) was nominated for a Gotham Award and an IDA Award. They directed and produced “When I Write It” (Tribeca & Hot Docs 2020, POV), and produced the ITVS feature documentary “Try Harder!” (Sundance 2021, Cinema Eye Honors Nominee, Independent Spirit Awards nominee, Hulu and PBS). They also executive produced “Breaking the News” (Tribeca 2023, Independent Lens) and the New York Times Op-Doc "What You’ll Remember". Nico was recently awarded a prestigious Chicken & Egg Award, which recognizes women and gender expansive directors at advanced stages of their career who are poised to reach new heights in their creative trajectory.
Jude Harris is a trans filmmaker and development executive. Her executive experience includes work for MTV, Gunpowder & Sky and Hearst Magazines Media. Her documentary credits include Amy Adrion’s 2018 Sundance and STARZ gender equity film Half the Picture, Vikram Gandhi’s 2021 Hulu film 69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez, Jasmine Stodel’s PBS America ReFramed film Kid Candidate, and David Siev’s 2022 IFC film Bad Axe, which was shortlisted for an Oscar.
