About the Filmmakers
Georgina is a BAFTA-winning and Sports Emmy-nominated Latino filmmaker, known for her compelling and intimate storytelling. She made her directorial debut with Netflix’s critically acclaimed BAD SPORT, a sports docuseries she co-developed, directing the episode “Horse Hitman.” Her next project, RIGHT TO FIGHT, a Sky feature documentary on the pioneers of U.S. women’s boxing, premiered at Sheffield DocFest, screened at Doc NYC, and earned recognition at both the Sports Broadcast Awards and the Broadcast Digital Awards in the UK. Before transitioning to directing, Georgina produced several notable documentaries, including the BAFTA-winning GUN No. 6 (BBC). Beyond documentaries, she directs music videos, allowing her to explore form and style more creatively. She is passionate about finding innovative ways to tell stories and communicate contributors' experiences more viscerally.
